A coworker was just discussing DiRT 2, how we would love to see one. Today I found out that our wish is granted, with DiRT 2 on the way in 2009. The previous DiRT dropped "Colin McRae" from the game's title, although DiRT was the latest in the Colin McRae series, but according to my source article Colin McRae's name is again part of the title out of respect to him after his death last year.

Colin McRae: DiRT 2 is supposed to boast dramatically better graphics than the previous ...

Bungie has a whole lot to say about this, so rather than paraphrasing I would just assume you read all that they had to say about this, but basically you are much better of not installing Halo 3 to your Xbox 360 hard drive after NXE enabled us to do this.

I thought I had already posted a thread about this, but I guess not.

Race Pro is the latest from SimBin, known for making racing simulations. Currently the game is slated for a January 27, 2009 release, so we shouldn't have much longer to wait for it. While SimBin has produced many of these racing simulations for PC, this will be their first for home consoles, and Atari will be publishing this one.

In an interview with Forbes, Geoffrey Zatkin, President of Electronic Entertainment Design and Research (EEDAR), said that only four percent of video games sell enough for the developers to make a profit. This means that the other 96% are failures, at least from a business perspective, as they fail to earn enough money to even cover the cost of development. A developer's safest bet is to "milk a franchise", making sequels and remakes of existing properties rather than developing new ...

I would like to extend my congratulations to Barack Obama on a decisive victory in the 2008 election and on being our President Elect. My wife and I both voted for him, and we watched the live coverage as the votes came in. It was nice to see such a clear winner early on rather than waiting for days or even weeks for concrete results as we had to do in 2000 and 2004. While the previous two elections were basically 50/50 (the toss of a coin, basically), Obama won with roughly double the electoral ...

Many Americans have talked about impeaching President Bush for years, and there have been lengthy lists of reasons justifying impeachment. Any one of them would work. From the sources David has thrown at me, it looks like impeachment is still going through Congress at this time.

Trying to contribute more topics here. Iceman usually posts everything.

This is just for a single year. Sony's losses from PS3 are much higher than the figure shown here, but this is just their losses from April 1st of 2007 to the end of March of 2008, which is still $1.255 billion. In contrast, Nintendo shows a profit of $2.594 billion for the same period. Nintendo made twice as much profit as Sony lost. Nobody even comes near Nintendo.

That was interesting, but ...

Information and images of some upcoming Wii games are getting around. These games are newly announced this week.

Sin and Punishment 2

This is the sequel to a game for the Nintendo 64. I remember seeing images of the original and reading about it back in the N64 days, and I remember it looking great for an N64 game, but it was never released outside the United States until it has relatively recently appeared as a Virtual Console download late last year. Unfortunately, from the images ...

Early generations of game consoles employed some control devices that are basically unrecognizable from today's controllers. Take for example Atari 2600's joystick and paddle controllers.

They don't look much like modern controllers, do they?

The first incarnation of what would become the controllers we know of and game with today was the Famicom ...

Well, I haven't been online for a couple days on account of the power outage. This whole area pretty much lost power early yesterday morning (around 4:00 AM or so) and have been without power for over half a day to a day and a half, depending on where you live. I haven't been able to be on much over the past weekend either on account of my brother being in the hospital and doing a bunch of stuff like watching The Dark Knight and seeing Weird Al in concert.

So, yeah, I'm still alive.

Far Cry 2

I think one of the more visually-pleasing games at E3 was Far Cry 2, but it also sounds pretty appealing in terms of gameplay. The environments are destructible and flammable, allowing for different options in terms of strategy. An example used at E3 was that players could start a brush fire that will spread out of control and enemies may run to try extinguishing it. Players may use a fire like this to corner enemies and mow them down in their panic.

Evidently we should be seeing Animal Crossing at Nintendo's press conference at E3 next week, according to a blog comment and editor from the UK's Official Nintendo Magazine. "Those of you who have read the new issue of Official Nintendo Magazine should already know that Animal Crossing Wii will be unveiled at the conference."
